Respiratory Medicine is a specialty that deals with diseases of the respiratory tract, including the nose, throat, the airways and the lungs.

Patients with respiratory disease may  report breathlessness, cough, phlegm production and wheezing. These symptoms can impact significantly on social function and quality of life.

Common diseases seen in Australia include asthma, chronic bronchitis and emphysema, lung cancer, bronchiectasis, and pulmonary fibrosis, among many  other rarer conditions.

Lung and Sleep Victoria provides a comprehensive approach to the diagnosis and management of respiratory disease.

We are able to care for patients throughout Victoria, in both face-to-face and tele-medicine formats.

While most services can be provided as part of a consultation, where inpatient care is needed, this may occur in either a public or private context.
